AWEI: A Roadmap for LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion

The Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) serves as a roadmap, helping organisations build effective LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion strategies and action plans. It provides a set of evidence-based criteria, updated every three years, to reflect national and international best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion. These criteria offer tailored guidance for organisations at different stages of their inclusion journey, ensuring relevance across industries and sectors.

For many organisations, the AWEI acts as a strategic tool to guide planning, policy development, and resource allocation in their commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion. While some organisations use the criteria internally for improvement, others choose to submit their initiatives for auditing and benchmarking against industry peers. Participation in the submission process is entirely optional.

Organisations interested in accessing the AWEI criteria can request a copy of the submission documents and use them as a structured roadmap for their inclusion efforts by requesting submission documents.
